Whitewater State Park

Whitewater State Park
                 Sep 2-5

9e
47 electrical sites
10 miles of Hiking trails

Our site was 9e.  Our neighbor behind us had a huge family and other families camping next to them. It made for a very noisy weekend.   If we camp here again, we would pick sites like 46e, 47e or 4e.  4e has the camper cabin off behind it.  4e was more private.  46e and 47e are on the main road to the non-electric loop, so it might be more noisy.  46e has more of an angle with the campfire and table closed off from the road.  These sites have nothing but nature behind it.  47e is a nice back-in site from the road.

It was a very windy day.  No windows to keep the wind from blowing you over.
10 miles of hiking trails from easy, moderate and challenging trails.  Trails take you up from the river to the top of the bluffs above for the most beautiful views around.  Depending on the direction you pick it can be more difficult to climb.  The water level was high when we visited.  A couple years back this area had a flood, which you can see pictures at the Whitewater Valley Visitor Center.
