dump stations –
near ranger station but turn around horse campground
Glacial Lake is a smaller park with a main campground and non electrical campground just off the main campground. They also have a horse campground too.
Water is located just after the ranger station on the left side. You just pull off to the left side of the road to allow people to still pass by. Not many people here so not a big deal.
Dumping is a huge deal. To be able to dump you need to exit the campground and turn around at the horse campground and come back. Just so you can pull over to the left to dump. Then once done you circle the main campground and exit.
Hiking trails – We hiked a nice trail in the open meadows to reach a fablous look out called High Peak trail. Parts near the peak become wooded. We did the group camp loop from the campground. We drove into town to see two park. Hobo Park had a great write up on it but al we saw was a statue of a hobo. Barsness Park was a wonderful find. It is located near the northwestern shore of lake Minnewaska. Full hookup for $47 and w/e $42. Miles of wooded trails with wood chips on the trail to soften the foot steps.
We stayed at #19 two years ago but we decided on site #15. We needed a board to level it out.
