We bought this park model online when in Minnesota during Covid.  

A place to stay safe while enjoying the outside during the winter.

As I came inside the door I knew I had to pick up breakables.  

We gave away alot of things that would break.  

Or I put them up high.  Do Clustering the house as much as possible.   

Larry started work right away.  We brought a table for him to work on.  

Our pet Knute and Doppel settled in.  Finding places to sit and relax in.  

We slowly gave away and moved furniture around this small home.  

Even finding uses of objects

Adding a ceiling fan

Adding shower head and handle head to wash Knute with for a show or two.

While keeping busy decorating the small house.

It was a wonderful peaceful place to stay during Covid.

Dump Station is right before you turn into the camp ground

Buffalo River State Park is miles away from the North Dakota boarder.  13 miles away from Moorhead, MN.  

What is special about this park is the Largest and highest qualiy of tall prairie grass in the US.  It is managed by the park and Natural Conservatory and MSU Moorehead.  East side of the park is MSUM Regional Science Center Land.  When class isn't in session you can hike their trail. more than 3 miles of a loop leading into another loop.  Southwest side of the park is the Bluestem Prairie Scientific and Natural Area (SNA),  make sure you spray your bug spray on all parts of your body.  It is about a 2 mile loop.  The trail is mowed grass and full of mosquitoes.  The prairie grass along the trial is tall and later it changes to shorter grass you can see over the prairie.  So many different plants and flowers.  The Muskoda Trail is about a .45 mile loop from the camp ground.  Nice view of the short prairie grass with some interpretive signs along the trail.  The interpretive sign explain the land and the history of the family who owned the land original.  

The swimming pool was closed due to Covid 19.  In 1930s Works Progress Administration built some building which can be seen near the swimming pool areas and bathrooms.  

Buffalo River camp ground has 40 sites and 35 are electrical sites.  This camp ground is small and far away form the road but not from the train.  The sites are not level but there are piles of rock near the dump station, so maybe next time it will be.  Each site is spread out from the next site.  The loop with people behind you, well that is close.  The camp ground is the open concept from camp site to camp site.  But because of the spacing it isn't that bad.  The train are very loud after dinner time.

Puppy Redo

Two years ago we took Knute for his first camping trip. He was 3 months old. Well, you can't walk puppies that far because of their growth plates. And it was also so hot outside. So we didn't get to see much of the park.

Our site two years ago at Lake Carlos was right next to the road. And this park is very popular. Way too many dogs out walking for a puppy to handle being that close to the road. This year we went during the week to avoid the crowds. We went with a site set back from the road and mostly point our windows away from the open campground.

The site drops off the right side so we moved the RV as far left we could go and added boards.

Knute and Larry enjoyed the morning walks before coffee and after dinner stools.

Trails – Maple basewood trails – It was a nice wooded trail with interpretive signs along the way. They also told me they enjoyed themselves. So as a family we did it again. We also did a nice trail starting from the picnic area called Hidden lake trail which is the hiking club trail. It takes yo pass two group campground. Which were way nice. For a long part of the trail you walk near the lake. Mostly all covered wooded trails.
